Twitter’s by invite only ad platform is now widely available to all business partners that wish to pay for this social network’s unique ads. During the beta stage of this advertising platform on twitter, it was kept at an invite only basis in the efforts to keep a stringent control over development stage of its ad business. However, Kevin Weil, Twitter’s Senior Director of Product for Revenue said that it would be a new open door policy, which is fronted by a self-service website that gives access to promoted trends and tweets, as well as Twitter’s own analytics
What is definitely something important to note is the technology and back end available for most businesses in terms of its features that it could provide for the business partners. I am personally very curious of what form of analytics it could provide which would help businesses gain a strong foothold and knowledge of their consumer base. Also, bear in mind that while there could be interesting facts and figures you would find of user behavior through analytics, the ad platform is still essentially a U.S only platform. While this is a U.S only ad platform, a bigger chunk of the consumer base is actually overseas.
This is however, a bold move towards IPO for twitter to then enhance a broader revenue.
