We have seen tokyo car shows where sexy race queens parade the events as well as Italian sports magnets attracting car enthusiasts by the revving of their monstrous engines. But have you seen nude bodies in a car ad? What piqued my curiosity was the latest Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio’s newest marketing effort for ESPN Magazine’s annual ‘Body’ issue. We are literally talking body here. Fiat had wanted an ad that is just as ‘visually unique’ as their Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio and initiated this project where they hired a few contortionists and circus performers by posing with body paint while they huddled together to form the shape of the car itself. What an interesting way to advertise for the car itself. This got me startled, will this be the evolution of a new breed of advertising for the automobile industry?
