IKEA’s been reaching out to the people with some really creative direct mailers lately. Here are 2 videos of the direct mailers that they recently launched. One is for the media while the other, is for the consumers. I particularly love the shirt packaging where you can fold your side with the box, read the letter as well as have it hang on the rails. Cool creative ideas. Nice work IKEA.
Check out these three concept printers that Samsung will be featuring in the IFA-electronics extravaganza in Berlin. They all looked pretty cool don’t they? The Internationale Funkausstellulng Berlin auf Deutsch. (IFA) held in Berlin will see a lot of tech companies featuring some really awesome new gadgets and this time round Samsung had just release some pre event images of their printers. The first design, Wave is a printer develop to allow the user to actually sync up their smartphone and print from it. According to Samsung, it is created with a ‘minimal and organic aesthetic’. The second design, The Indie is docking bay design concept with the combination of a sound system with printer. It sure looks like a iPod dock that charges and yet plays music and now it prints at the same time! I think what is more interesting is the fact that Samsung is going to exhibit some of their current color laser printers that could operate with the NFC (Near Field Communications) technology. A technology that would most of the phones are equipped with and trying to prove its worth for the future of mobile technology.

Still remember my last post on Farmer’s Insurance? Their slapstick humor ads are really starting to crack me up! They talked about how you should really use their insurance company and get your interest protected. This time round, they created this really awesome character, Dick Fowler, P.I. The funny dude basically goes around punishing inconsiderate golfers. We see how he dishes out punishment for justice. Very crude, very funny. See more here: farmers.com/dickfowlerpi
For those who snacks a lot, there is a high chance you are also a chocolate lover. They say, the last bite is usually the best out of the entire chunk. Well, Milka, the chocolate brand of Mondelez, gave French people a choice to take back what belongs to them in a very interesting way. Milka is giving the French people the option to go online and request that they get their last bite of chocolate back. What they did was to package each and every pack of chocolate with one square of it missing. Upon opening the wrapper, you get a code which you can go online and request your missing chocolate by activating it. With a call to action : “Date to be tender”, they are challenging the French people to claim back their chocolate squares. Eventually, the missing square will be mailed back to them! An interesting campaign with great engagement. Both offline and online. Nice.
Things just can’t get any better! Were you a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Mashable just published an article reporting a release for the turtles, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” for Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network and Steam for PC. This action hard hitting game brings back memories of the retro TMNT arcade coin-op games we used to rock during the 90s. Published by Activision, the game boosts great game play with the game’s art direction quite closely resembling the new Nickelodeon CG series.
I personally love the TMNT games since I was a kid. In fact, my favorite turtle happened to be Raphael! As usual, the rooster of characters to select will be the complete set of all 4 turtles: Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo. They are also bringing back the four person co-op function! Now you get to hammer through the stages all the way to the lairs of Shredder with three friends simultaneously! Check out the game!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows costs 1,200 Microsoft Points, or $15.
When I first saw this news, I literally jumped. I told myself I wanted this real bad. What can you expect from a LEGO fan whose probably just as hardcore as I would to decorate or ‘pixelize’ my mobile phone? Man, these iPhone casings by Belkin are so badass. They are OFFICIAL licensed casings from LEGO and are fully functional where you can literally stack the bricks and do lots of fun with it. Watching the video made me want to purchase the casing right on the spot! Check it out!
Having the ride of your time on a roller coaster is something most people have embedded in their lifetime memories. The thrill of the ride and the adrenaline rush is unforgettable. Well, the MINI wants to give you the exact feeling. But this time, we are riding on their MINIs. A rather smart and bold idea to have people sitting on top of the cars with seats that resembles the roller coasters. We see a row of MINIs dashing across the streets, making turns at the roundabouts as well as parading in the city before it comes to a halt at the traffic light. Then there were curious faces from the passerby and the screaming expressions of the passengers. Pretty awesome idea. A nice way to put more attention on the brand.
