I assure you that this infographic has got results that are extremely alarming. It is said that sugar is consider one of the most unhealthiest substance that it would cause way too many ailments like metabolic syndrome to cancer. Check out this infographic by OnlineNursingPrograms.com, it actually documents the amount of sugar that Americans consume on their average and the figures are rather alarming. However, I must say the art direction is pretty interesting. Seldom I would see infographic done in a photographic manner. Interesting indeed.

Light projection masterpiece

When I saw this video, I knew I just had to talk about it. This is some serious light projection experiment done on moving surfaces which explores the possibilities of real and digital space. I questioned the accuracy of this light projection mapping initially, but was completely taken in by the video. Towards the end, it even corresponds with the environment and the beauty of how the elements interacts as well as the animated sequences is simply mind blowing. All done by possibility 2 projector arms. It is absolutely magical. Brilliant work by Bot & Dolly from Mississippi USA.

Stella In Two

Well, if you fancy nice looking packagings, here is a very nice design execution for Stella In Two. These are impressively designed with the great use of color graduations and look at the geometrical cuts! Packagings are inherent when it comes to product positioning and branding. It shaves off the competition and brings your product a little more into the surface making it a hero amongst the rest. Nice work.

“A more conceptual incarnation of the first fragrance, Stella In Two employed the use of graduated opaque glass to simulate traditional ceramic bottles combined with more contemporary geometric forms.”

A roller coaster ride

Carlsberg have been very active in their advertising for the last couple of months and this time round, they did another really crazy stunt. They wanted to give the fans of the Premier League, a taste of what it feels to have a roller coaster ride to the Premier League. In doing so, they actually used a real roller coaster and they had the fans, commentators, players etc to take the ride. As you can see from the video, it turns out to be rather outlandish. However, it is just as crazy as the brand would love to go. It is filmed near Amsterdam at Walibi Flevo, in the Goliath for 2 full days. Awesome.

This is very cool. Japanese design agency D-Bros has got something for us. We see here a set of really fun and creatively designed envelopes. They spring on lots of fun and also encompasses a rather unique identity for themselves. By pulling the tab you will unveil the graphic using the tearing off movement from your tab. We see the long trail of exhaust steam! This is definitely adding a little fun to our current state of technologically driven world.

This easily qualify as one of the interesting business card I have seen for this year so far. While it does has some similarities to the idea that IKEA used for one their direct mailers, it is still interesting as the application is different. An ad agency called The Littlest Ad Agency just did these lovely business cards which open up to a lovely well illustrated character at her table. Cute and very lovely.

Golden S4

You might be seeing another Gold phone coming up real soon. Shortly after the Apple revealed their gold champagne iPhone, Samsung took a bold step to counter offer it’s consumers with something just as good. Their offer was a new Gold Edition Galaxy S4. Looking at the visual, it does look very exclusive and classy. You can see two options that is available. There is the Golden Pink or the Golden Brown edition both of which Samsung is pushing off at the United Arab Emirates’ social media platforms. From the look of the ads, it seem to be scaled towards the middle east market. One thing to note is that Samsung also has the ability to counter Apple’s marketing efforts. I actually like the Golden Brown Edition and do hope it would make it’s way to Singapore.

It can definitely WAIT

In Singapore, drivers text while they are behind the wheels, be it waiting for the lights or halfway through along the expressways. The act of doing so, makes it extremely difficult to focus on the road causing possible road accidents as well as road hogging if one slows down inevitably to answer a text message. Interestingly, New York has developed a really brilliant initiative to curb this problem for drivers. They decided to come up with the idea of creating ‘text stops’ along the roads. There are currently plans to roll out 91 ‘Texting Zones’ along state highways, all in the effort to recommend drivers to pull over to a safe zone and do their texting before continuing. There are signs like “Text Stop” or “It can wait” that has a note on how far away is the nearest texting zone, rest stop as well as parking area. This provides drivers with higher tendency to take a break there and complete their texting ‘duties’.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has lately signed legislation to increase point penalty as well as license suspension and revocation for texting while driving.

“New York State is continuing to use every tool at its disposal to combat texting-while-driving,” Governor Cuomo says in a statement. “We are sending a clear message to drivers that there is no excuse to take your hands off the wheel and eyes off the road because your text can wait until the next Texting Zone.”

When will Singapore come out with an interesting policy like this? I’m guessing it might not be in due time as we are sacred on land and over crowded with enormous amount of vehicles on the road. Meanwhile, drive safe people.

Event space installation

I have done quite a fair bit of events and exhibitions. There are many ways we can inspired a rather old spot and that includes a nice touch on the visuals we use, smart creative ways to implement more spaces as well as a very strong concept behind it. What you are seeing here is the installation from Sam Songailo, a significant part of the growing arts scene in Adelaide. This installation is held in an industrial warehouse. Innovative way of manipulating art. Clever.
