Ice cool Nissin Cup Noodles!

This is simply awesome. As much as I last recalled, I actually did have a bowl of ice cold cup noodles during my days pulling an all-nighter for pitches! And now, Nissin Cup Noodles is officially introducing ice cold instant noodles! Interestingly, we always have the perception of consuming cup noodles in its hot boiled state. Using somen, the thinnest Japanese noodles for this icy package, noodle lovers are sure to explore the different textures compared to its usual noodles. Apart from that, we will discover the clam, seaweed, mushroom and lots more in the cup! Set to release on “Somen Day”, this might actually be a hit! Cant wait to have this in store soon!

Are you watching the world cup?

Everyone’s has their eyes glued onto the world cup right now. Whats unfortunate is that the timings where it is aired is during the day and most people are actually slogging away at work. To make work entertaining, Heineken USA had a brilliant idea. They are proposing American bosses to select one of the games and actually permit their employees to enjoy those matches during work! Check out #BrazilianNoShow challenge. Nuno Teles, CMO of Heinken USA describes that taking part in the challenge might win you an ice cold chilling Heineken.

Google Cardboard

Carboard-thing cardboard-google-io

This must have really astounded attendees at the Google I/O keynote. Apparently Google gave the audiences a little exciting gift.  A really cool DM constructed from pure corrugated cardboard with some neat tech stuffs like lenses, magnets, some velcro and a rubber band. What it comes out to be is actually an Oculus Rift looking VR viewer that corresponds with Android smartphones. Im seeing how companies are making technology at such fast pace with lowered production, making technology for the masses. Regardless, this is an awesome initiative. After all, tech should be made available for everyone.

This is seriously brilliant. A smartphone app that allows you to literally flirt with a stranger. GM has lately come up with an awesome app developed by their China team for Android which allows a driver to actually scan the license plate of another vehicle and eventually strike conversation with the owner through text messages. How cool is that?! Obviously this sounds really amazing as one can actually be hitting on another simply through an app at close proximity! I remember seeing a photo of an inconsiderate car driver parking so close causing another driver to have difficulties accessing his car door. The app would come in handy under such circumstances with the app. It is reported that app might just work well with Google Glass and that adds a lot of possibilities to this new discovery. Indeed the world of technology and innovation never fails to astound us. The project, DiDi Plate might just found itself a market in our present society. Check out the full article here.

Return home, son.

Nothing replaces motherly love. No hero that brave could bear to lose the love from their folks and loved ones. Advertising agency, Lowe-SSP3 Bogota, Colombia had recently did a campaign for the Ministry of National Defense Colombia to helped moms plead the return of their demobilised sons for christmas. The program was so heartfelt, it taps on the emotional aspect of many, especially their sons. Anything can really happen as long as we put our hearts and souls into it. The program, ‘You Are My Son’ took to the streets and TV with songs made through the sorrowful words of these moms. Such impactful yet enduring messaging. Thumbs up.

No driver?!

Wow, we have talked a whole lot about the Google Driverless Car project but less of the real action have started. While we all know research and development is well underway, the Google team have yet to feature anything substantial. Now they have the ‘First Drive’ where they invite people to give it a test drive. As a matter of fact, this test drive had people being fetched around autonomously at locations considered to be more safe with lesser people. The amazing thing about autonomous technology means they don’t actually need drivers and that means no need for steering wheels, pedals nor brakes! All they really need is a really neat computer chip which immediately recognises the locations and onboard software and sensors to move. The machine is designed to bring you to your destination with just a button. Simply brilliant yet revolutionising technology.

World Cup

The long awaited FIFA World Cup has commenced, and fans all over the world roar while surges of adrenaline rushes through their heads. Definitely an event to behold. There are some trivia stuffs about the event that many have forgotten over time. At least for those who have been to the World Cup, they would relish in joy whilst looking at their tickets. I refer to an article on CreativeBloq which features a long string of ticket designs from the past years of World Cup. I must admit in terms of design, the tickets has transformed from something really plain to what is extremely fanciful. Take a look here.

BIG BIG thumbs UP to all the kick ass creatives in Ogilvy Beijing. This activation communicated a very important message in one of the most impactful approaches we have seen so far. People tend to be reminded when they are engaged mentally and physically. To a certain extent when an ad results in an action, it gives remembrance. This ad combines emotions and actions. And thats really clever execution. It successfully stunts the audience and captures their attention. Great work for Volkswagen.

the Happy Cycle

Work hard for the things you love. Coca-Cola’s recent initiative, ‘Happy Cycle’, brought that thought to live. This time round, the campaign seemed to drive a different message. However, their marketing efforts remained extremely engaging. We see people being invited to ride the bicycle in an effort to work off the calories to redeem a can of Coke. Whats interesting is the process in doing so. See how you can work off the calories and be rewarded.
