Retail store interiors plays a significant role in helping to keep your customers staying engaged in the store. By now, it should be no surprise that most shoppers tend to return to a shop they purchased before, especially if it can connect with them emotionally. To do this, there must be an opportunity to spark that chemistry with these shoppers. Check out this tea shop in Vancouver, Canada.

Situated along the street, the facade is a beautiful blend of white and red cherry blossoms. The entire design direction is very much inspired by Japanese art, capitalising on the minimalist details that potentially forms into a differentiated tea-drinking experience. In this case, it does not matter if the customer is familiar with the cultures or equipped with the knowledge of Japanese tea-drinking. The customer will immediately be immersed into the entire experience.

Gaming on the go

With the proliferation of mobile games, the gaming industry began to see increased trends of people devoting a large portion of their time and finance into this area of entertainment. As an active gamer, I am also guilty being part of this staggering number of gamers. Now, does that mean console gaming and arcade gaming is losing its appeal? The answer is a Yes and a No. You probably notice the decrease in traffic in your neighborhood’ LAN shops, cyber cafes and arcades. But on the other hand, you see people gripping tightly on to their mobile phones on the train and completely sticking their face into the games wherever they go. This makes you doubt the survivability of traditional gaming. However, Nintendo proves us wrong by actually playing the “catching-up” game. Check out their new console, aka ‘NX’. It is the hybrid of both console and mobile gaming experiences.

Instagram addict

HAHAHA. Epic.
Seriously, if this isn’t one that can resonate with any Instagrammer out there, then nothing will. Any serious Instagrammer will tell you it takes a lot to get your direction right and a total new level to hit that submit button, especially if you have followers always waiting to see your next post. Look, there really isn’t an easy way to build legitimate followers at an accelerated speed and with that amount of effort placed in creating a kick ass Instagram account, you want to make sure you do it right. From the vast array of filters right down to the brightness, contrast and even the vignette, you want to create the right blend. Yes, being an Instagram addict, I make sure every image of my vintage toy collection is well taken. One of the ingredients for a successful Instagram account is featuring solid content. So check out this video and see how much ruminating is taking place in relation to real life editing systems that are happening on your mobile. Funny indeed.

Wearing art

Well, Im a fan of good design but i am also a huge fan of hilarious design! Personally, i find the works of Melbourne crochet designer Phil Ferguson to be very intriguing. In fact, it is loud, cool and very attention seeking. Also known as Chili Philly, he created large crochet with inspiration from all kinds of food. We see pizzas, tacos and a lot more. What is interesting from his work is the way he envisions his designs – they were very much not meticulously planned but rather a moment of creativity. I really liked how he brought art to life. Speaking of wearable art, i do think the definition of wearability can be defined individually.

Eating LEGOs?

4 5 3 2 1

As much as creativity is concerned, being able to swap a couple of bricks and stacking them up all pretty isn’t going to make much of an impact. What’s really amazing is being able to create and built functionality into LEGO bricks. Especially one that serves to improve your daily routine. AstonishingStudios’s new creation is actually a ‘Cheerios Cereal Maker’. It is powered by the LEGO Mindstorm technology and is able to dispense one bowl of cereal together with milk. Check out the video to see more innovative details about the machine. It can be powered by a two Euro coins. The storage is also highly reloadable with enough space for your spoons and a bottle of milk. Awesome.
