Parcel right at the door step

You can’t expect anything more crazy than this. A literal yet impactful approach taken by Volkswagen Denmark to introduce the direct sales of cars online. I think the idea of having it so direct creates the powerful message of how easily one can own a Volkswagen. Funny as this stunt might seem to be, it sure delivers a good conversation starter. Eat Naked.

bunyadi-restaurant-1000x667

So they did it. A restaurant that embraces the concept of delivering an exceptional dinning experience based upon the ‘back to nature’ approach of doing things. I can almost imagine myself dinning in the dark. It’s definitely not an extreme idea nor one that seemed over the top. But to dine in the nude is not something anyone can be comfortable with. Bunyadi, a 42-seater restaurant in London is offering its patrons that naked food experience. With such provocative dinning approach, it might seem apparent that only a handful of daring individuals would strip to their birthday suits immediately. Well, what do you know? That is so wrong. At the moment there are actually 46,000 people on its waiting list!! This is definitely an idea that requires some serious nerve and commitment to work. Come to think about it, would you have second thoughts if you are dinning with people who don’t necessarily look good in their birthday suits?

Instagram addict

HAHAHA. Epic.
Seriously, if this isn’t one that can resonate with any Instagrammer out there, then nothing will. Any serious Instagrammer will tell you it takes a lot to get your direction right and a total new level to hit that submit button, especially if you have followers always waiting to see your next post. Look, there really isn’t an easy way to build legitimate followers at an accelerated speed and with that amount of effort placed in creating a kick ass Instagram account, you want to make sure you do it right. From the vast array of filters right down to the brightness, contrast and even the vignette, you want to create the right blend. Yes, being an Instagram addict, I make sure every image of my vintage toy collection is well taken. One of the ingredients for a successful Instagram account is featuring solid content. So check out this video and see how much ruminating is taking place in relation to real life editing systems that are happening on your mobile. Funny indeed.

Igloo bungalow!

I believe in the concept of Airbnb; where people could connect with one another as they enjoy a part of their lodging together. The concept itself is beautiful. It connects people, enables travellers to enjoy a rather unique experience. We can certainly stretch the concept of unique all the way towards exotic. We can all pretty much agree that creativity has no limits. Check out the “Boutique Winter Igloo”. A freelance art director, Patrick Horton, and his room mates had just built an amazing winter cave, made up of natural elements. It promises a rather exotic experience for two. After having listed it on Airbnb, the ad got taken down by an employee from Airbnb. This was what he said to Patrick:

“We are happy to see that you guys are saying busy and having fun during Blizpocalype,” an Airbnb rep wrote. “Unfortunately, you igloo, while very well constructed, has failed to meet our occupancy standards.”

Check out the pictures. Its really one chic looking backyard bungalow! Enjoy the snow people.

Wearing art

Well, Im a fan of good design but i am also a huge fan of hilarious design! Personally, i find the works of Melbourne crochet designer Phil Ferguson to be very intriguing. In fact, it is loud, cool and very attention seeking. Also known as Chili Philly, he created large crochet with inspiration from all kinds of food. We see pizzas, tacos and a lot more. What is interesting from his work is the way he envisions his designs – they were very much not meticulously planned but rather a moment of creativity. I really liked how he brought art to life. Speaking of wearable art, i do think the definition of wearability can be defined individually.

Talking fries

I love crowded sourced content. The power of people cannot be underestimated. When curating popular content, one must anticipate spontaneous reaction from their fans. Take McDonald’s, Australia for example, their newly released social film was directed using script provided from over 3 million fans. They helped gave creative ideas, copy and direction for this movie. The film, “Loaded”, was created in slightly over two weeks with an episode being launched almost every 3 days in tandem to its gathering of ideas from their fan base. It helped mould the final movie which lasted almost 8 minutes. Not only is it humorous, its also very creative. Be sure to watched till the end credits! Well, its basically french fries doing most of the talking!

Pizza movie night

It doesn’t hurt to reward your loyal customers with some good old fashion fun, usually with affordable budget. Im always keen on ideas that pushes boundaries of existing platforms to evolve it further. A good advice for most marketing executives is to leverage old or low tech. Simply because low tech does not equate to low engagement. Crafting a good brand experience can come in the form of ANY available media, platform or tech. Take a look at this awesome initiative by Pizza Hut. They embedded movies which are downloadable via QR codes on four totally different box designs! Furthermore, they are individually characterised as Slice Night, Anchovy Armageddon, Hot & Ready and Fully Loaded. As you probably would imagine, each of these names symbolises a different movie genre. Interestingly, the box by itself is known as the Blockbuster Box. I think this is very cool. The formula to create exciting experience that is very functional to its business, characterizing their boxes and giving their customers variety is a very clever combo. While the practical side of it is argueably quite difficult to pull off without dirtying your phone and the result a rather less ‘hi-res’ movie quality, it’s still a magnificent idea nonetheless. Let’s just hope it improves as the campaign idea moves along.
