What happens when you pick the minds of very creative people and have them all rounded up cracking ideas for something zany? You get truly astounding work. The Art Director’s Club has since invigorated a huge following of creatives, creating brilliant ideas through creativity, design and experience. For Young Guns 12’ competition this year, three members of the Young Guns, Julia NeumannJordan Bruner, andJamie Carreiro proposed the ‘Reanimation Game’. Interestingly, it defies all norms of a typical game setup. Characters in the game they designed would never perish and instantly resumes in an entirely new visual setting as it plummet off dangerous structures. The styles are works by over 45 artists and effectively communicates the idea of a reanimation. Check out the game here.

Bro, let me take over the wheel.

Haven’t got time for your pals? Spending too much time on your relationship? Fret not, a cure is on it’s way. A while ago, there were interesting stuffs that allow guys to sneak their way out from tight relationship commitments to spend more quality time with their pals and now we have one that serve the same purpose. Actually, it is even better. The BroApp is created to give you that ability to multi task between your lover and your best friend. Leaving you with more capacity to hang around with your mates, the app’s intelligent functions keeps daily ‘operations’ in check. When configured, allows you to not only tweet to her but also send her timely text messages. Something most guys should leverage on! Now you can spend that quality time with your mates, the way you want it.

Musicians Wanted.

Gosh, I should have seen this coming. It is such a good mix of experiences between what is sheer driving pleasure and maximum entertainment satisfaction. We now have both with the newest Volkswagen GTI campaign. The new experience integrates digital and creativity together as one. Imagine a new way to make music, simply by merging the idea of driving together with music. Of course, we all know that when you drive, you listen to music on the go. Now, you are your own curator of music for your own accordion of tracks in your little car space. Pretty neat isn’t it? The app allows you create music based on the way you drive and it recognizes the behavioral patterns. While the app is yet to be available for download, this leak of a news is one to keep us captivated.

Motorola Moto G

Smartphones have prove themselves almost as important as water is to our survival on a day to day basis. I cannot for once imagine if I leave home without a tech gadget. Worse, if it was my phone, I would drive back miles to retrieve it. Trust me, how can one possibly leave their door without their phone. Its insane. Ok, I’m sure you get the picture. As much I emphasis the significance of the phone, the huge attention and monetary values we invested in it comes naturally. A lot of us might not consider other brands apart from the current likes of the Apple iPhones or Samsung Notes. The reality is that we actually have a lot more on the table that is available for our selection. And they are no less inferior than your iconic iPhones or Samsung Note 3s. Introducing the Motorola Moto G. Look, I need to be honest, I was looking for a rather cheap phone but yet just as good as the iPhone. As much as I preach my devotion to Apple, I was hunting for a cheaper alternative to substitute as a work phone and I chanced upon the Moto G.

Some might even helm the Motorola Moto G as the new evolution of market-altering smartphone. Why is that so? It comes at a rather affordable price but packed with dynamite specs that makes it so competitive in the current smartphone landscape in Asia.

“Don’t let the price fool you, this is a well-built phone”

When you price an item at a low cost, humans don’t desire it like they actually want it. We have weird tastes. True enough a good phone that comes with a cheaper tag sounds extremely fishy. Here’s some stuffs to consider if your planning to purchase the Moto G:

• Motorola is currently owned by Google. Which means it gives great user interaction and technology.
• Moto G currently uses Android 4.3 Jelly Bean but will soon be using the new 4.4 KitKat pre-installed. Talking about being stable? Nice.
• Motorola Protect gives you similar if not better features like your Find My iPhone service. When linked to your Google account, allows you own the thief by remotely locating the device, locking the screen and changing passwords.
• Motorola Assist silences your phone, goes into meeting mode or sleeping mode for your own pre-set desires.
• Motorola Migrate allows for a much easier transfer of data from your old phone to the Moto G.
• It also puts iPhone’s well acclaimed Retina Display to shame with it’s screen pixel density of 329ppi, 4.5-inch touchscreen packed with a 1280 x 720 pixel display screen. Waaadaa!
• Of course, the Moto G comes equipped in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400, running at 1.2GHz with a 1GB RAM.
• I think the coolest feature is getting our freedom from the charger BACK. The Moto G is able to multi task a number of apps and features simultaneously without much battery drainage. Absolutely necessary!

Operational readiness

Getting prepared for the storm is what most of us normally do. We prepare what we need in order to handle situations that might befall on us. September is the month of National Preparedness and in a effort to bring this message across, the American Red Cross developed a mobile app to aid in getting people more prepared. However, the twist here in this commercial is that instead of telling you to get prepare directly, it indirectly communicates the situation if you got yourself prepared in a wrong way. An amusing commercial with powerful messaging. The kits are important. So, get your Red Cross app today.

These are pretty interesting ads from Corporacion / JWT, Montevideo, Uruguay. Does these icons look familiar to you? Yes, i am sure they look like the ones on your iphone. Apparently, it is a great way to advertise a product if you can bring that relation stronger to your audience by using things they are familiar with. In this case, the icons on the iphone. A nice and easy way to let our audiences see the message behind each ad. It is an effort to advertise the new Life Cinemas app on mobile. The headline goes:

“The movies you like, now on your phone. The new Life Cinemas app.”

Moto X

Two tech giants tag team to bring us an awesome invention. A great deal of rumors and hearsay lead us to believe the highly anticipated invention would be revolutionary. One that would eventually replace your maid, your PC or your minimalistic designed phone(you know what I mean). The first phone Motorola co-designed with Google. As we all know, consumers these days are changing their appetite gearing towards more perceived value for their money. People are starting to ask, “What is it in for me to pony my dollars for this metal device?” It’s either going to make it or break it. The actual selling point is the versatility in the customization properties of the Moto X. Some of the coolest features includes the phone’s Touchless Controls, which taps into Google Now to answer or execute actions on your behalf. Now, thats Siri hands-free. Voice recognition and hands free features also allows the Moto X to work better than your maid. It literally means you could yell at it and it would execute an action for you immediately. No delays nor hard feelings. To level the competition, Active Display shows you the time and recent notifications every single time your phone moves. Cool feature. With the fact that Google has now taken over Motorola, the interface design is tightly knitted to the look and feel of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The phone boosts extremely awesome specs as well.

It has:
a 1280 x 720 pixel AMOLED screen.
2GB Ram
a 10 mega-pixel camera
16GB internal storage
X8 Chipset
Snapdragon S4 Pro dual-core processor
Quad-core GPU
Language Processor
“Contextual computing” processor

Totally mind-blowing hardware specs there. The ultimate user experience is boosted with the ability to customize your phone in 2,000 different combinations! I am really looking forward to seeing this phone hit the shelves in Singapore. Check out the videos as well as more of it below.

Nuke that Nudity

playboy

Mobile apps has reign the market leaving consumers with more than enough on their hands to keep their eyes on Playboy magazine. I have been busy crushing candies everyday! Anyway, Playboy launches their mobile app that swear by the fact they can entice readers with non nudity and incredibly exciting bite sized content. Won’t that be FHM magazine? So what exactly would the difference be now? While Playboy boast a long reputation of providing male audiences with great male-driven content, it is also slowly losing its crowd. With most publications going digital now, one who does not make great leverage on their USPs would not be on a competitive edge over other popular online content provider. The only valuable proposition is that it provides you it’s own exclusive content that is exclusive to the app itself. Interesting? I don’t think so. Let’s just say we men want more.

I was elated to see this article. A friend of mine whose a fashion designer used to travel frequently have got problems always looking for a hotel at the very last minute. I am sure this app will definitely helped people out there who needs shelter badly and have gotten almost no luck running in and out between lobbies! I have yet to test out the app but it sure sounds like a good idea. CheckInTonight allows users to book rooms on the day itself or the following day. Cool app.

curation OVER creation

It came as no surprise for Flipboard’s increasing success when announced their current user base stands at 50M as compare to the previous record of 20M readers. After all, this new update will see users now able to curate their own content. This is a power tool allowing users now to collate articles they like into this digital magazine layout. On top of that, it is encompassing eCommerce (Etsy) as well as print journalism.

In my opinion, one of the successful factors that made this app great is that it places content generation as well as content ownership. I personally have been trying out the this app and there is a lot more room for improvement. As the music app Spotify runs, it is really a musical version of Flipboard. However, should the integration between both apps happen, it would be groundbreaking. Flipboard is defintely no cookie cutter in the avalanche of apps out there.
