I think humour has got no limits. Not that there is nothing under the roof you can’t joke about, but its more of what did you just joke about that caught my attention. check out this billboard execution. Very simple, very clear and extremely hilarious execution. once again, its a damn funny billboard.
Check my ride!
I have seen engaging billboards that moves and interacts with the public. But this one beats the roaming food trucks or mobile advertising trucks. This is actually one hell of a truck from Kagulu, a Taiwanese company in the automotive business. Their truck parks beside you and scans your vehicle. A huge projection screen then reveals your vehicle’s manufacturing date and its current price! So it either prompts you to change to a new ride or post a positive comment on your current one! While some people might find this a rather sensitive data to reveal, its actually a rather innovative and creative execution. Nice idea but we really do need to consider business practicalities and ground sentiments. With these factored in, it would definitely be a brilliant initiative.
Beerboard
Nothing beats sharing happiness. Free booze is definitely one way to deliver that happiness. Check out this billboard from Carlsberg. As simple as one could imagine, it literally offers the public free booze! Bring your own and have it filled to the max! Certainly not the most exciting idea in certain restrictive countries, but for those that worked, the value of excitement is truly unimaginable. Its gonna get busy on the streets for sure!
Hand Drawn
I know this had been done awhile ago back in 2010, but the idea came as so original that I think it has never been contested in terms of creativity nor execution even to date. I love the idea that it sprout so much originality and relevant messaging through a simple use of purely markers. Brilliant perspective into seeing how things can evolve with just simple materials. A great example by Leo Burnett, UAE for Chevrolet. A starting point for brands to generate awareness.
The fan detector
Most often of not, it is not easy to have the immediate amount of engagement or the mechanism to trigger your consumer for an action. But, there are a lot of ways we can achieve so depending on the kind of promotion or the product that we are selling. In this case, music being an integral part of our lives is a good boost to trigger music fans for an action. Billboard Magazine wants to reward real music fans. They created a magazine dispenser machine that would instantly reward you with a free magazine. All you need to do is to prove that you are a fan of the artist on the cover of the magazine. How do you prove your devotion then? All you really need to do is to plug your phone to the machine. You don’t even need an app. The machine scans your library and almost instantly decides if you have at least 20 tracks of the artist on your phone. Then you either walk away with a free magazine or empty handed.
