Your mood swings

Some might call this a gimmick but I think its a really cool item to have. Known as a Smart Ring, this accessory tracks your mood and feelings. It then converts and displays it, allowing your to further understand your current state of mind and emotions. This is a powerful depiction of your current mood and might just help to get you more aware through adjustments. Started by Finnish company Moodmetric, it intends to read your emotions and transmit the information to your personal smartphone.


What it does is to tap on a biometric sensor that would feel andsense your current feelings and immediately updates your phone through Bluetooth. So you get a better picture of what are your mood graphs in a day. Powerful mechanism to let you understand yourself better and make the necessary adjustments.“It tracks your emotion levels and reactions. It measures the small changes in your skin which come from the autonomous nervous system reactions which can tell you about your emotional state”.

Burberry Kisses

What if you can transmit love to anyone in the world. What if you can do it with just a kiss? Burberry’s initiative a while ago managed to captured the essence of love through these simple gestures. ‘Burberry Kisses’, a project that lets anyone out there to send a virtual kiss from their mobile to people around the world. Working together with Google, a very engaging and interactive experience is born.

Design with a purpose

To design with a purpose is something I often preach to my designers. Afterall, design is a solution and for that to manifest, there has got to be a purpose. Levis’ packaging for their Basics line has flaunt not just design, but the subtle intention behind those beautiful packagings. MAD Projects took on the challenge to create a special packaging for Levis’ undergarments, socks and clothing line. By instilling purpose behind each design, they were able to create something special for the 200, 300 and 400 series. Have a look at the pictures below. Pretty neat stuffs I would say. The 200 series boxes works as a match strike while the 300 series features a resealable packaging. Not only is 400 series design looking real swag, it is actually made of real wood paneling. How cool is that? I love packaging especially how designers can pack innovative ideas into them. Lastly, have a look at the Levi’s Basics socks which literally comes in a glass jar. Brilliant. Sustainability is the word.

Another exciting collaboration between two powerhouse brands, the Chanel x Monster headphones is one with not only stunning visual appeal, it also comes with an obscene price tag. This really awesome looking headphone features Chanel’s signature leather design with quilted design and of course, their trademark black color. Looking really sleek and cool, the magnificent audio piece would cost $5,000 USD and is readily available at Chanel boutiques soon. Will you kop one for yourself?

Im sure girls are going to like this. I remember watching a TED talk where the speaker spoke of how our senses play a vital role in allowing the mind to register a splendid experience from one to the other. Designers have always been able to create visually appealing items but what about incorporating smell into these pretty little things? If you are into nice pretty confectionaries, the recent work from Firebox has a nice assortment of cute coin purses infused with lovely fragrances to intrigue your senses. With designs like donuts, macoroons and even candies, the smell factor has certainly beef up the idea to a whole new exciting level. Scents like strawberry, chocolate, mint and orange are some of the iconic scents that comes along with these lovely pursues. Certainly an interesting fashion item to have isn’t it? Being able to own a pair of decent Adidas sneakers might not mean anything significant for you and me, but the idea of customising your own pair of sneakers with your very own Instagram picture is something worth thinking about. As much as other sneaker brands have done the concept before, this time round Adidas is actually bringing the excitement a notch higher by letting users print their actual photos onto a pair of ZX Flux shoes from their original line. Rather than the use of just color palettes or materials to simulate the look, they now literally print photos on it. Check out the cool video from Adidas. This is another amazing idea from the sports giant, one that is highly engaging and effective. They are planning to implement this idea in August through the upcoming Mi Adidas app which is available for download on iOS and Android.

Woooo, it thrills me when two of my favorite hobbies come together. Pop culture has always been highly regarded as an ideal platform for brands to leverage on. Especially when two brands collaborate, the intrinsic value it brings across to its followers must allow them to remain emotionally attached. Now, we create more through cultures.
