Always a big fan of all the works created by powerhouse ad agency, Wieden & Kennedy, Portland. In particular, those kick ass Nike commercials they had ran over the last couple of years. They hold a dominant spot in my memory and I believe the same goes to all those who appreciates the level of creativity they implanted in all their videos. Now, they made a new high. Check out this commercial for the Olympics. The ad, ‘Unlimited You’, brings on a heightened brand message that illustrates how great athletes are born from birth, as they transformed from unprepared amateurs to world-class athletes. Very cool and extremely high budget production. Nice.
Work that mind
I have to admit Im a huge fan of the campaigns by W+K, Netherlands, and their recent campaign for Nike women does live up to my expectations. These short clips featured athletes with very strong determination. The negative thoughts running through their mind gets decimated almost immediately. And I believe the power of positivity is one of the main driving force for success. Remember, success don’t come easily, so do not let your negative thoughts push you over. Stay strong. Believe in yourself.
Merlot
Love trainers. I always feel the need to dress down in order to dress up. That hip looking trainer from Nike SB, is another beautiful model of its Trainerendor. It now arrives in a fabulous red-wine “Merlot” palette. Check out the mesh accompanied by those really awesome nubuck uppers! Not bad at all! This is truly a beauty. I pretty much adore sneakers with nice white soles. They frame the base very nicely. At a very decent price of 90euros, one must not miss out this shoe at all Nike SB outlets.
Wolf Grey
The Nike Air Max never fail as a staple in my wardrobe. Light and comfy, this pair of kicks is the way to go on casual fridays and saturday morning grocery shopping. Nike has released a new model for the Air Max, dubbed the “Wolf Grey”. It looks just as good as all the other iterations of Air Max. I actually love the geometric designs on the shoe. Personally, the idea of looking ‘cold’ is pretty cool. The blends on the shades of grey and blue is fantastic. Looking at it closely, you will realize the grey translucent ‘tape’ that straps nicely round the forefoot across the heel. Beautiful! I would want to grab a pair of these. Prices should start at $179 USD.
Winter Wonderland
Let me guess – It is Nike and it is a piece of awesome work. The answer is none other than kick ass creative work from Wieden + Kennedy Portland. I’m always right on this one. Nike has been making truly wonderful works partnering their creative agency W+K. There is this one thing about christmas that gets us going – the festive joy that binds our elated spirits together. This whole emotional aspect of the season induces bonding and that leads to opportunities to create that message for most brands. They can leverage on this to compete and place them ahead of their competitors. So, let this case study be a good one to you if you are one of the guilty ones who haven’t been planning for your christmas marketing efforts. In this new installment of Nike’s strings of awesome commercials, W+K places emphasis on selecting Nike’s elite athletes and have them in action in winter, while they hum and sing along their own interpretation of “Walking in a Winter Wonderland.” This video, directed by Rupert Sanders places it’s focus on the athletes’ determination to achieve success regardless of any harsh situations. Enough talk, check out the video peeps.
Nike Air Force 1 Safari
I haven’t blogged about fashion at all ever since I started Appleisblack.com, and I figured that I start somewhere. Today, I like to bring up some nice pair of sneakers I saw over the web. I love Nike sneakers and have been a fan of them since early age. With the proliferation of pirated sneakers, many have succumb to invest their dough on leather shoes or even alternative footwear on the market. However, sneaker collecting is still a culture so strong that sneaker collectors remain adamant towards anti-sneaker piracy. Here, we have the Nike Air Force 1, the “Safari” edition. Very cool indeed. Looking like the Foamposite version, the Air Force 1 features an upper dominated by the printed monograms of the Safari. I particularly love the the black Swoosh and the heel tab. One of its awesome design features is the bright orange sole and the icon printed on its tongue. I think it is definitely an iconic pair to rock when working or during weekends. What do you know? One of the incentives of being a creative is that you get to rock dope fashion in the office, during office hours.
Nike, you just did it again
I am getting increasingly jealous of the work that Widen + Kennedy is producing. They are not only amazing, they are beautiful and inspiring. Again, more virally impactful work from the agency. This time round, we have NIKE producing a viral video of how they engage athletes to produce their posters. We coordination, anticipation and enthusiasm in the process of how the movement posters were made. All in the factory where there were print presses and sports facilities. This is brilliant work at it’s benchmark again. Check it out.
NIKE
Nike is really an amazing brand. The spirit never dies. This video is a great example of that spirit illustrated in video. It can basically be seen as a summary of the entire Nike. Just watch it.
The Making of our part
I remembered the time when I had an opportunity to work with a client who is running a vegan business. He is one with a huge love for nature and a great vision to realize the need to keep sustainability for mother earth. There are tons of opportunities for us to do our part in helping to shape mother nature. Today, sportswear company Nike is taking up this role by means of a mobile app, Making. It is a free app which provides details of the sustainability for all the clothing materials relevant for your making. Nike has placed sustainable design as one of their top priority and has since developed a very extensive databse of materials over the course of eight years.
I personally love the app interface and it’s simplistic design. There is a nice infographic touch to the way the information is communicated. Very interactive and comes with rather smooth navigation. Check it out.
Shine that soccer field
A truly brilliant idea by Nike to have soccer fields marked by laser beams and projecting it onto the streets of Spain. I particularly love how Nike is taking the game to the streets. It creates a stronger brand presence. Nike had a specially designed van and crane which would help to project the laser soccer court. And the best thing is, you can send your request for their projection through the use of your smartphones. This is definitely an amazing idea as it not only combines the love of the sport with Nike branding, it is also keeps people entertained.
