J.J. Abrams leaving Star Trek. Noooo!

It is very disappointing news for me as I learnt that J.J. Abrams has decided to give Star Trek films a rest after his taking up of the next Star Wars installment for Disney. While is still sitting on the sit as a producer, they are actively looking for some one to come in and do the directing and would expected more of the new director’s initiatives to be seen in the next film. Although there are bound to be haters and lovers when it comes to creative work, I personally loved what J.J. Abrams has done so far and would really appreciate if he could continue his work further. J.J. Abrams did the the revival of the Star Trek franchise back in 2009 as well as later installment of Star Trek: Into Darkness. These were good films and in my opinion definitely worth watching again and again.

“It definitely feels like the right time to let someone come in and do their own thing,”

“We want to hire someone who’s gonna come in and bring their own sensibility,” Abrams said. “I’m very excited to see what comes next, despite feeling jealous of whoever that person is.”

He is now tasked to film the highly anticipated Disney’s upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, which leaves the man with almost no time for Star Trek. Apparently, he had to sacrifice(at least, that’s how he sound like) Star Trek over Star Wars. I suppose there are just things that would potentially influence his decisions. In fact, I am wondering if the immense fan base, monetary returns and franchise exposure is what J.J. Abrams is looking for. Well, all I could say is I am still very upset over his take to depart but also very excited to see his work for Star Wars.

“There are things we’re focusing on right now before the director, which is just sort of the fundamentals of where the story is gonna go,” he said in a recent interview with HitFix.
